The XC4 Golf shoe looks a bit different than the spiked Oxford that became a country-club staple in the 1920s. Built with a waterproof leather, the shoe has a neoprene stretch collar and memory foam cushioning for an ultra-comfortable fit.

The company’s temperature-control technology cools things down in the heat or provides warmth in chillier weather. The hybrid rubber sole has durable lugs that provide traction and stability when you need it most. The durable sole can also accommodate off-course wear comfortably. Available in tan, black or white leather, the XC4 Golf Shoe retails at $179.

After launching its first golf shoe in the 1920s, Johnston & Murphy found success in golf through the ‘70s and ‘80s when Arnold Palmer became the official ambassador for the brand. Golfers such as Ken Venturi, Hale Irwin, Gene Littler and Greg Norman were also aligned with the brand.

Johnston & Murphy’s return to golf comes following the dress shoe brand’s successful launch of the casual athletic Prentiss Sneaker last year. With dress codes in offices and at golf courses continuing to relax, the demand of upscale casual accessories like modern leather shoes is high. A refined hybrid is a great way to enhance casual looks without sacrificing comfort.
