These can be practiced at HOME, DRIVING RANGE or PRACTICE FACILITY.
They can HELP you STOP making those annoying GOLFING MISTAKES.
Tip 1
BALL THEN TURF – Requires tee pegs & one alignment stick, available from all good Pro Shops & Golf Retailers.
BALL POSITION 6″ in front of the stick or cane.
ADDRESS back foot on stick.
Aim is to transfer your weight missing the stick on the BACKSWING & DOWNSWING.
This PROMOTES the downward STRIKE with your IRONS or WEDGES to hit the GOLF BALL then TURF taking a small shallow DIVOT to improve ball striker.
Tip 2
FACE CONTROL – Driver or Irons
Just requires some TEES.
Tee up the Golf Ball as normal & place 2 tees loosely IN FRONT.
Aim is to hit the ball & STRIKE both tee pegs.
INSTANTLY can see if you’re swinging from the INSIDE which can indicate a DRAW or HOOK if from the OUTSIDE or OVER the TOP which normally results in a FADE or SLICE.
Tip 3
HIP ROTATION
Requires 2 alignment sticks.
Thread 1 stick through loops of your trousers, place other in ground.
Aim is to hear the sound of the sticks hitting each other because the hips have started to turn before starting the DOWNSWING. This is great Tip for Improving Rhythm & activating the big Muscles that adds POWER to help GAIN yardage.
Tip 4
CHIPPING
Use a coin or plastic ball marker, ensure use something that does not damage your club.
Aim is to focus on the coin & chip only short distances.
This drill will improve your CONFIDENCE around the FRINGES & GREENS.
Tip 5
SHOT SHAPING – have some FUN..
Place 1 stick or cane in front of you & WITHOUT thinking pick a target in the distance & aim to hit a FADE or DRAW around the stick in the GROUND.
Always be safe & check alignment sticks are not made of graphite.
