Wyndham Championship 2020 odds: Despite final-round 74 at PGA, Brooks Koepka is still the co-favorite

News

While many of the world’s top players will be taking a much needed breather after an absolutely incredible nine-week stretch since the PGA Tour returned, others will be feeling the heat at this week’s Wyndham Championship, the final tournament before the start of the FedEx Cup playoffs.

Arguably the most polarizing man in golf, Brooks Koepka, sits atop the odds board at 10/1 along with former Wyndham winner and World No. 6, Webb Simpson. Oddsmakers seem to believe that Koepka will rebound after a forgettable Sunday performance at the PGA, where he failed to back up his controversial comments following the third round.

Koepka will will be joined in Greensboro, N.C., by Patrick Reed (16/1) and Tommy Fleetwood (14/1), as well as Justin Rose (18/1), former Wyndham winner Brandt Snedeker (45/1), and Jordan Spieth (34/1). Paul Casey (18/1) will also be making the cross-country trip to Sedgefield Country Club on the heels of last week’s second place finish at the PGA. Among notables competing this week who currently sit outside of the FedEx Cup playoffs include Zach Johnson (150/1), Sergio Garcia (40/1), and Shane Lowry (29/1), who will all need strong finishes to continue their season. J.T. Poston, the defending champion, is 48/1.

We can certainly expect to see far more red numbers this week as well, as Sedgefield, a Donald Ross track that plays to a par 70 and tips out at only 7,127 yards, has produced winning scores of 20 under or better for the last four years.
